Abstract
ranslations Of Makâmât-ı Harîrî in Periodical Publications
In this article, the Turkish translations of “Makâmât”
written by Harîrî (dod. 516/1122), one of the most famous
of the Arabic literature, in periodical publications in the
Ottoman period were examined. The translations of
“Makâmât”in periodical publications were givenin
chronological order with their bibliographical information
after the introduction, which gives information about the
type of makâme, Harîrî and her work named “Makâmât”.
These translations were handled information about the
content and the method followed in the work.In the subtitle
of “Information about the Content” the internal features of
the work and in the “Method Followed in the Work”
subtitle was given the full text of the work after a brief
explanation.In the conclusion and evaluation section, these
translations were discussed in terms of similarities and
differences under the main title of purpose, method and
style. Document analysis was used as a data collection
technique from academic literature, manuscripts and
printed work catalogs, archive documents, newspapers,
encyclopedias and biography sources. The purpose and
contribution of this article to reveal these translations of
“Makâmât”, one of the important works of Arabic
literature, which were not handled as a whole before in
Turkish literature in periodical publications, these
translations to evaluate in terms of similarities and
differences in terms of purpose, method and style and to
present these works to the benefit of the world of science.
