Abstract
Perceptions Regarding Valour And Bravery in the Text of A Poet Who Directed Hikemi (Erudite) Style: Valorous Manner In Koca Ragıp Pasha
One of the poets who successfully handled the Hikemi
(erudite) style in his poems in Divan poetry after Nâbî is
Koca Râgıb Pasha. Râgıb Pasha, who left his mark on the
century he lived in with Hikemî style, became the pioneer
of erudite poetry and a strong follower of Nâbî in this
century, making a strong impression with his berceste
(distinguished) verses. His greatest contribution to this
style, which found its expression in the form of irsâl-ı mesel
(parable), was the transformation of the idea into poetry.
One of the aspects that Râgıb Pasha, who provided this
transformation, added to the Hikemi style is the
phenomenon of bravery and valor. The poet expressed this
phenomenon in a valorous manner and blended them with
his hikemî style. When we look at his Divan, it is seen that
his discourses about valor and bravery are expressed
concisely due to his poetic style. According to the sources,
it is seen that these poems, in which the virtuous tone is
dominant, are based on the political understanding of the
Umayyad period. The praise patterns used by the poets in
that period while praising the caliphs, later it was
continued in Persian and Turkish poetry. It is seen that
these that these expressions in Râgıp Pasha discourses are
depicted in a valorous manner, including the bravery of the
memduh (panegyric) and his poetic nature. In this article,
these aspects are examined based on sample poems. In
addition to these reviews, aspects reflected in the hikemî
style of Râgıb Pasha were added.
