Abstract
REFLECTIONS FROM BAYKARA ASSEMBLY -Literary Assemblies, Entertainment Assemblies, Various Events and Stories Told to Sultans 8
Bedâyi'u'l-vekâyi is a work of memoirs, which was
written in Persian by Zeynüddin Mahmûd-ı Vâsıfî and
draws attention with its comprehensive and important
information about Turkish culture and social life. In this
study, the translation of five chapters in Bedâyi'u'l-vekâyi,
which shed light on the Turkish cultural life in Turkistan
and reflect these to the present, will be included. The first
part of these includes the journey of Vâsıfî, who was under
the auspices of Ubeydullah Bahadır Khan, which he made
with the permission of the sultan, what he witnessed
during this journey, his arrival in the city of Sabran, the
city of Sabran, its castle, and the madrasa that Sultan
Ubeydullah ordered to be built inside that castle and the
two long minarets built on the sides of the iwan of that
madrasah , a well that Emir Arab had built with two
plastered waterlines, and a well that he saw in Western
Kayrevan, and four construction texts written for different
reasons. The second includes the poetry assembly
organized by Muzafferüddin Sultan Muhammed Bahadır
Han in the Şarâb-hâne plateau and the journey of Mevlânâ
Subhî together with Mevlânâ Hayyâtî and Mevlânâ
Reyhanî to perform the pilgrimage; the third one contains
the enmity and struggle between Şehâbüddîn İshak, the
vizier of Mîrza Shah Garib who was one of the sons of
Sultan Hüseyin Mirza, and Mevlânâ Âgehî; the fourth includes an ode written to be written on the inscription of
an imaret, completed with various stories about
Enûşîrvân-ı Âdil and Haccâc-ı Zâlim; the fifth includes a
story told to the sultan in Shahruhiye Çeharbağı.
