Abstract
A Mawlavi Shaykh and His Sons in the Gelibolu- Kahire-İstanbul Triangle
This paper’s subject is Gallipoli Mavlavi lodge’s shaykh
Husayn Azmi Dede; his oldest son Muhammad Baha al-Din
Dede, who was the Cairo Mavlavi lodge’s shaykh; and his
youngest son Ahmad Jalal al-Din Dede, the last shayk of the
Galata Mavlavi lodge.
In our presentation, which is based upon their works and
archival documents, we will be offering information about
these three members of the same family who happened to be
the Mavlavis and servants of the Turkish poetry, music, and
culture with their works.
