Considering a Common Misconception: Leff ü Neşir Art and Problems
In this article, the problems determined by reviewing from the oldest rhetoric works to the books that are written today related to leff ü neşir art were addressed and tried to be clarified. The main point of this article is the objection of leff ü neşir art to the definition that starts with sentences such as - especially in books written today, “Two or more... in the first line of a couplet”. Since, there is no record that the leff ü neşir must be made between the words in two lines of a couplet in the both Turkish books in Arabic literacy and the ancient Arab rhetoric, and there is no information that it is an art in versification.
In addition to this common misconception, other changes in the description and the classification of this art in historical process, which were not fully understood in terms of foundation, have also emerged, and significant details have begun to be ignored. All these neglect led to that the existing leff ü neşir art was not detected in the texts, and moreover, the texts with other arts were shown as an example instead of leff ü neşir; apparently, the art of leff ü neşr was shaken to the foundation, which is still in progress.
The aim of this article is to find out the most accurate description and classification of this art, which is taught in universities and high schools and included with incorrect definitions and examples from scientific-academic studies to textbooks; and to reveal the correct examples of art along with the details which constructs the causes and reasons.
