Abstract
Dreams in the 15th Century Mawlids
Mawlid is one of the literary genres, examples of which have been seen since the early periods of Classical Turkish Literature. Recent researches have brought the unheard poets and works of this tradition, which we can also name as the mawlid corpus, to our literary history. However, with the literary studies to be made on the identified mawlid texts, the tendencies of the mawlid tradition regarding uses such as sound, shape and motif can be determined to a large extent. In this study, in the 15th century, Literary dream texts determined from the mawlid texts written around the life of Hz. Muhammad; literary, cultural and religious context will be examined. In the introduction, after giving basic information about the type of mawlid, the mawlids that are the basis of the study will be introduced and the literary dreams determined from these works will be classified according to the dream owners and shown in tables. In the analysis section, the dreams of the 15th century mawlids will be evaluated primarily in terms of motif structures and similarities with fairy tales. Later, dreams will be classified according to Islamic acceptances, sources and structures. After this subsection, the analysis of dreams will be given. Dream and its expression cannot be separated from each other in social life and cultural acceptances, as well as in literary works. Dream symbols and their interpreters, which should be handled independently due to the wide cultural background, will be shown in tables in this study and brief information about their essential features will be given. In the last part of this section, literary dreams will be classified and analyzed according to their results. In the appendix of the study, literary dream texts will be presented to the attention of researchers in accordance with the plan in the introduction.
